I'm also interested in your results.

I just ordered some of these to test along with some NodeMCU ESP8266 controllers. I plan to use MQTT to communicate back to HomeSeer. I haven't ever used MQTT, so it'll be a learning experience.

I'm hoping to put the sensors in the attic, but now I'm wondering if ceiling fans will register false positives. I'll post results in the next week or so.

Cheap radar sensors for occupancy detection

I came across a Youtube video comparing several very low cost radar sensors that can detect motion of both metallic objects and water (i.e. people). Some of these can be bought for under $2 US on Amazon. I'm curious if anyone has worked with any tiny radar modules and used them as motion/occupancy sensors. As cheap as these are, I'm thinking I could put them all over the house to detect occupancy and movement in any room. What I like is that since this is RF, they could potentially be placed in the attic above each room and thus not visible. I'm going to order some and try them out. Haven't decided yet how I want to interface them to HS.
