What Thermostats Work Well with HS?

I actually don’t recall even setting the time! Looking at the display just now, there’s no clock. Which is fine enough, since everything is handled through Homeseer.

The T5/6 don’t require the cloud... note that these two are Z Wave, not Wi Fi. So there’s no way they can connect to the cloud....

So the Honeywell thermostats I must have been looking at were wifi. Your right, z-wave ones wouldn't connect to a cloud. I have the Go Control reconnected and it seems to be working better than before.

Thanks for the info. I have tried the Go Control before. I have the same model. It would loose the correct time sometimes and I would have to reset it. Maybe I can give it a another try. Maybe driver from HS has changed or improved.

If you don’t have a common wire and therefore have to go off batteries (as we do), there are a couple of Zwave choices. One is the Go Control thermostat, GC-TBZ48. This is what we have. Overall I like it- has proven to be rock solid, and reports battery life reliably. Nice aesthetics too. Only thing I don’t like is that the buttons are a little cheap, and on one of ours, if you don’t press the button in the right place, you have to press it a couple of times for it to register. Not a huge deal.

the other battery Zwave choice is the Honeywell T5/T6. I believe quite a few people here have installed it. Frankly, I probably would have too but it wasn’t available when we bought our condo. But I’m satisfied enough with the Go Control that I don’t see a need to change.

I think that information is specific to zwave thermostats. A majority of them on the market are wifi.

Don't forget to check and see if the chosen thermostat has any requisite command classes to handle any desired tasks above the minimum for certification.

The 8840, 8830, 8820 and 8810 are the supported ones if I recall. The aprilaire line that is supported by Home Automation systems is not listed on their main website and they do not do a great job of advertising them. However the 8810 is relatively cheap and is wifi. I think I picked those up on ebay for under $70ish each.

Which plugin did you use? Is the TZ16 z-wave, zigbee or wifi? I didn't see your particular model listed with your link. Did they come out with a newer version of the TZ16? The TBZ70 (from link above) looks a lot like the Trane XR524, but not exactly. Thanks

I developed my own script.....nothing special but works well for me. Yes they have updated models. Mine just keep working so I saw no reason to update.
