    Serial multi input board

Hi, I found a website with cheap serial boards for inputs/outpus but can't remember the site.
I need at least 24 inputs for doors, windows, able to read status lights from eg dishwasher, tumble dryer, washing machine etc.
Please excuse any spelling and grammatical errors I may make.

I am testing out a USB board from USBMICRO called the U421. Just received it and it works fine. I am currently working on a way to communicate with HS. Not serial but thought you might want to check it out.

Can you try to remember the site name?
Tasker, to a person who does Homeautomation...is like walking up to a Crack Treatment facility with a truck full of 3lb bags of crack. Then for each person that walks in and out smack them in the face with an open bag.

Advantech make serial I/O modules if that's any help.

        http://www.advantech.com/products/16..._1-2MLDFD.aspx

They are expensive to buy new, but they sometimes turn up on e-bay.

          USB Micro

The site is USBMicro http://www.usbmicro.com/. I am testing the U421. You should follow the link to the "notebook" and they have lots of info including sample VB applications.

Does it have to be serial?

You could try the Direct input plug-in for Gamepads .

I used 4 12 button gamepads to build an opto-isolated 48 channel input card.
Other than testing, I haven't actually used it properly yet...but I soon will .
