    Question about IR to multiple destinations

    I have a 'standard' IR xantech receiver to destination setup via 3 wires that looks like:

    IR --Signal---- Connecting--------Emitter
    Receiver +++++++++ Block
    -----------

    My question is can I split the receiver signal and connect it to a connecting block in another location? So the Signal, + and - lines above would be spliced and connected to another connecting block in another room. Since the other connecting block would be supplying power to the receiver too, would that cause a problem?

    Thanks in advance for any help!

    Yes, you can share an IR Receiver to multiple connecting blocks. All you really need between the two blocks is a common ground and IR Data. (Two conductors) - as long as the receiver gets its power from the other block.

    This is called "common IR".

    Good luck
