    ups into a ups

    can you plug a ups into another ups to get extended time?
    or is this a no-no???

    i have a apc 1000 and just got another.... i was planning on using one for my switch, cable modem, etc... and the other for HS server only.... but curious if you can plug them into each other....
    HW - i5 4570T @2.9ghz runs @11w | 8gb ram | 128gb ssd OS - Win10 x64

    or im guessing that you plug each of them into the wall... and via usb... the machine will know when the first dies then stay up until last one is down......

      I have never tried it, but I remember reading somewhere that you could not do this because the second one would think it had loss power due to the nature of the power conditioning of the first one (non-natural sine wave).

        Yes you can, but you may find that the second one sees a lot of false power outs from the first one, if you can adjust the sensitivity of the second unit that problem would go away.
