voice recognition with pc in another room

Hello all,
I am thinking of connecting my mic in the house to my pc located in my office outside. I am thinking of using a cat5 that is already in place. If this works my problem will be hearing the ack. phrase though my in house speakers. Is there any way for HS to hear my attention phrase "computer", close a relay ( to enable my in house speaker ), and the when I am done ( "goodbye" ), open the relay thus disabling the speaker? thanks for any thought.

What if you used a wireless intercom and tied it into the PC speaker/mic. That way talking to station 2 talks to the HS PC -- just a wild though.
