Can you ask alexa the value of a device you have in HS ie a Rfxcom temp sensor?

Did you figure this out? I have been meaning to try this and my first attempts have not been successful (ie, Ask HomeSeer the value of Outside Temperature). . .

Got it working. . .after looking up the exact correct syntax. . .

I second Jon00's statement. The Alexa helper makes it very easy to have Alexa respond and even create conversations type of questions and responses.
