How to get Amazon Echo Alexa to know which devices are in the same room

I'm sure there is a thread on this already, but have been searching the forum for a while...

Is it possible for Alexa to know what devices are in the same room. For instance instead of saying "Alexa set upstairs lights to 50%", being able to just say "Alexa set light to 50%" and it know that that it is supposed to be the upstairs lights.

I have several Echo's around the house, so would need this for multiple rooms.

I think you are going to have to search Alexa for this not HS. Alexa just sucks in the devices from HS then does what it wants. I don’t play with Alexa much but I do you know that you can control a Firestick by individual device Alexa device. I have a couple dots paired to the Firesticks in the room they are located and can voice control that Firestick from that dot not the others. So maybe you can. My two cents worth! Lol

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I've seen a thread on here in the past about this. But currently cannot find it. Anyone?

This sounds like the Group functionality in the alexa app, no?
