    Running events from Google

    Hi all,

I just heard you can run events from Google by enabling "voice command" and using the key word "activate". Couple question though.

    1. Is there a way to run the events without the key word, activate? Using ifttt doesn't require a key word, but I'd really rather not use a 3rd party any longer.

    2. Is there a way to add different or event multiple voice contexts for an event? For instance "turn in family room lights" or "turn the family run lights on"?

    Thanks!

    Hi

You can use a Google routine using the voice command wihout activate, and within the command section of the routine you have the event voice command including "activate"

I need some clarity on the following:

The event attached doesn't show up on GH.

What trigger do you use? Do I need to click the "Include as voice command"

      Thank you

      Devan

I got something working at least.

        1. created a virtual device called Shades
        2. Created events that open / close shades when "shades" device is on / off.
        3. Enable voice for "shade" device
        4. Assign Shades in google home to same room as google mini.
        5. Ok google, turn on shades --> shades lower.

The nice thing is that if I say ok google, turn on lights, it doesn't change the shades anymore.
