    I've left the house

I use IFTTT to determine when I have left the house and arrived back home. The Location service works the majority of the time but the HomeSeer service to run an event only works very intermittently. I've spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting with no success.

Is there any alternative way to do this? I'd prefer something that's automatic so location on my mobile is ideal rather than having to remember to push a button or set a device.

Depending on what router you have at home you may be able to detect your phone connecting to wifi and trigger on that. E.g., a Unifi router with a Unifi plugin can track user connections. I believe Tasker phone app may be able to do it as well. I use the free version of Life360 app along with the (long unsupported) PHLocation2 plugin for this purpose. Keeping fingers crossed that PHLocation2 continues to work.

Wifi is the method I use to determine that I am home. If I can successfully connect to my home router, then I have tasker run the "Honey, I am home" event.

Some notes on Android phones (Tasker): If location services is off on the phone, then the Android phone will not report the Router SSID name. I do not usually run location services (why make it easy for the secret Ninja assassins to locate me). So I set my Phone to always connect to a specific IP address (using IP Reservation on the router), and connecting to that IP address as the signal. The odds that another router will assign me that same exact IP address is small, so I do not worry about a false indication.

Thanks Wade. As luck would have it my partner already uses the Life360 app so that might be an option. Unfortunately, I'm maxed out on plugins on my Zee so can't add any more right now.

Thanks, that's helpful. I'll have a look at Tasker. I'm gonna guess though it also needs a HS plugin to run the event? I'm limited to just 5 plugins on my Zee and they're all in use at the moment. Guess I'll have to wait until I move to HS4.

You can probably have tasker set your home/away device value via json request.
