    MyHS or Direct

I am doing a remodel and have moved a few items from my desk switch to another switch to organize things better. Was thinking of moving my HS there which would mean no more direct logins and using MyHS. Is that what people are doing?

So you're moving your HS server from one switch to another switch? Are they still in the same network/location/home? If so then nothing changes in how you access your local HS server. the MyHS service is for access remotely.

Same network and location. During the remodel I have my work and home workstations working on wireless not in my office. I left the HS server connected to the switch so it was still connected wired. I have been accessing HS using MyHS.

If it's on your local network why would you be using MyHS to access it?

It makes life a lot easier if you assign your Homeseer server system to a fixed IP address within your local network. I use the "IP Reservation" feature on my router to accomplish this. Check your router user manual to find out how to do it on your router. It usually consists of entering your computer's MAC address, and also the specific IP address you want to use.
