    MYHS down again?

Homeseer status showing "degraded performance" and I cannot connect via Homeseer App. This is second time in a few weeks. This always seemed to *work* and now twice in a month.

Kinda drops the WAF when this happens. Is there an underlying issue here?

Also seems to be down for me also. I logged in with Ip address locally on a web browser and everything works with my system.

Still down. I hope Homeseer can give us some assurance going forward.

Same. First clue was that Alexa couldn't connect.

Down for me too. Just using direct connection in the mean time since I seem to have a fairly stable static ip address.

Would be nice if HS staff would respond.

You folks can sign up for status reports via email. They went down about 20:11 Eastern and I don't have another message that they are back up. See:

Did not know this, thank you.Signed up! However in the page for operational status, it show Alexa integration operational, and that is not working. I realize the myhs services are part of that, and they show impacted.

Yeah, in another thread it was explained that the litmus test for being "up" was as simple as something like a ping. Of course, if there are dependencies, anything that is upstream and shows "up" won't function properly, if a process downstream is "down." Thus, as I understand it, homeseer.status reports, but leaves the interpretation to the user.

This is down too often, and for too long each time. At work I'm just completing a project to migrate our in-house systems to AWS, so I can't help but wonder about both security and reliability of HS and of the ultimate access to my home automation system.

If MyHS is run in a private business place, I hope it has clustered servers, redundant HVAC, good firewall/IDS, power, and internet with failover. When it takes this long to recover, it often signals something isn't right about the infrastructure or DevOps.

My IT brain starts thinking about data loss, ISP or hosting bills not being paid, poor change controls, security certs lapsed, botched DNS, or (heaven forbid) a hack. Ultimately, there is potentially access to security systems, door locks, and other things that can range from damaging to merely a nuisance. For anyone away from home when this happens, there may be things that need to be controlled that can't be. I'm hoping that HA is seen as more than simply a convenience or hobby and now part of people's critical infrastructure that has to be reliable.
