    X10 WiFi hub

Could this work with HS3 as an alternative to CM11a? This would allow x10 without the need for a RS232 serial port. Would any existing plugin work with it?

There must be a lot of x10 devices still being used. Why else would they create this new product?

Kinda cool... though, I can't see anyone taking the time to develop a plugin for this technology.

Yeah, it seems to only want to use the smartphone app for control.
Also, it only supports 32 (out of 255) devices.

You can sort of DIY one using a RPi3 / CM11A (or whatever) connecting to it via wireless ethernet and putting the combo anywhere in your home.

You would be using sertonet and socat for this. Personally here have tested UPB and X10 and ZWave remotely this way on the RPi2.

You will not get a nice smart phone gui this way though.

Was just thinking the same Pete.

Do you know of a way to make the resource name for the serial port in Linux stick? I am using a USB to RS232 adapter and it tends to change its name periodically during boot. This is especially true when there are more than one of these with the same manufacturer.

Did anyone ever figure out if there's a plugin for this? There actually are a lot of X10 devices in use. In my case, although I've considered changing technologies over the years, i just keep coming back to the fact that X10 is extremely reliable and inexpensive, so why?

Is anyone using this? I used to have x10 commander which worked great. Just got a new iphone and restored from backup, but the x10 commander app won't work now to control my devices when away from home. I guess app is no longer in the app store.
