You need to flash Tasmota or one of the other custom firmware to the sonoff device first.

If you look through the Tasmota wiki there is a bit of information there. https://github.com/arendst/Sonoff-Tasmota/wiki/HomeSeer

What Sonoff device do you have?

      I'm using a 4ch Pro with RFXCOM...

After flashing will it still work with Alexa and EweLink?

          With Alexa yes
          Not ewlink
You can get phone dashboard app that will do same as ewlink such as mqttdash

Do you know when 3.x firmware was released with 4CH Pro? I know I flashed OTA about 6 months ago. For the Sonoff basic 1.5 worked. 1.6 failed and 2.x worked with SonOTA.

The biggest issue I had when first using SonOTA was my firewall. I disabled the Bitdefender firewall and it turns out the Windows firewall then became enabled. I had to then disable it also after I figured out what was causing the failure in the final stage.

I do find it easier to just use USB serial, but that is only because I have done it so many times and no longer need to overcome that learning experience and common gotchas.
