I rebuilt my home automation controller, and as I've always done, I copied over the HS2 folder from the old machine, but when it starts up it shows as unregistered. No problem, I go to register and the online registration fails with object not set to an instance. So, I contact Homeseer support to get the activation code for offline registration, and instead they point me to a scheduler.dll which supposedly doesn't require you to register. I copy that over and it fails on startup with an object not set to an instance error. Can anyone tell me how I get HS (and also my paid for plugins) to work again?

Towards the last beta versions of HS2 registration methodologies changed. Here used the copy of the directory in Windows to back up HS2.
Sometime or another there was a registration file located in the root of the Windows drive.
Only suggestion I can offer is to restore an older copy of your HS2 directory, test it to work then maybe upgrade if necessary.
Did you save your offline registeration numbers from the original purchases?- Pete

I used the copy of HS2 that I had running to build the new one, but I probably hadn't updated it for quite a while. I do have all my registration numbers, but I had done online registration back then, so I don't have any activation keys. I still have the old system and don't mind munging around in the registry if that would help.

Yes recalling when HS2 was changing registeration DB's they sent a copy of all registrations via email to validate your stuff as they migrated over.
Thinking the methodology is the same today with a number for license and last name for registration code.
Not even sure that this stuff was in the Windows registry. Personally here never played with the Windows registry for HS2 licensing.
Found the email HS sent out. Maybe if you look at your emails you could find it.
