  • DS10a's on ebay

fyi - ive been searching amazon and ebay for ds10a's as I love them and got low on stock. got a few projects coming up to add them too and they just work, especially with BLRF...

my current use, is that my wife found alcohol in our 19y old sons room. so she said.. I hope he isn't getting into our liquor cabinet. well I removed the ds10a from the basement door and installed it on right side of china hutch. setup an email alert. Went to bed and our son came home late.... wife wakes me up.. HE IS IN THE CABINET so I jump out of bed, book down the stairs, he hurries up around the corner, dumps something down the drain... long story short he was busted....
so I had to order more for the other side... and found NEW IN BOX 4 - $20 free shipping... bought them and they came in and I setup the other cabinet.
got 2 spare; however, I was just on ebay again and found 5 - $25 with best offer... offered $20 and he immediately accepted...
    so I got 9 ds10a's for $40.
if you recall the X10 special - it was 10 for $40.. so I'm almost on par...

ive got 2 gates to do this summer, shed door, above ground pool ladder as well....

so if you need them.. I saw more... so go gettem while you can!!!!

yeah.. I know where some are...
I gotta get stuff set back up... as now HS is very stable for me.

I have 2 in my sump pump... 1 for water too high - never wanna see that alert and 1 when water drains, gets tripped and used to log to a file for charts... to know how many times a day..
2 on garage doors.. left and right for open/closed
      1 in liquor cabinet...
      1 spare...
got 1 in a gate post...
      1 on shed door
      1 on crawl space door
      1 on utility room door
so 2+2+1+1+1+1+1+1 = 10...all accounted for.. SWEET.. but now 9 more LOL
only a few setup in hs though...

I just pulled 5 out of service as we had our windows and blinds replaced and could not find a good way to mount them due to their width so replaced them with z-wave sensors that have a form factor that is more suitable. Will keep them around though as they are handy for a lot of different things. Have one on the BBQ with a temperature switch (https://www.ebay.com/itm/163167204412) that lets me know if I've left it on. One still on the doorbell and a few other places.

These ones: https://www.aartech.ca/ecolink-dwzwave2-5-eco. I needed the external inputs as I could not place the magnet right next to the sensor. That's the only one that currently available that supports that. There were other brands available before, but they all seem to have discontinued the models with the external contacts. I use them with these contacts/magnets: https://www.aartech.ca/vip120-2-flai...c-contact.html which makes a nice clean install. The one thing I don't like with the DS10A's is the size of the contact/magnets they come with, but they can be replaced with something smaller as well.
