    Snips voice assistant and Homeseer

I just came across snips assistant https://docs.snips.ai/ .
Couldn't this set us free from the cloud-based solutions ?

Looks good. Now. What hardware to use? One of the perks of the Alexa/Google/whatever devices is their microphones. Putting a Kinect in every room is clunky to put it nicely.

Interesting. It says it's compatible with android and IOS and can control other apps. I wonder if this could be set up on a phone and voice would control HSTouch.

Since I do not use my Alexa echo for asking then question etc etc. And only use them for home automation. Something like this would be perfect here .

Looks like they offer kits to build your own interface. At time of this post: $115 for base kit, $85 for satellite.

Fantastic! Now how do we interface it with HS?

I think Pete has been working with Home Assistant and Homeseer over at Cocoontech.

The Snips site has some Home Assistant info, so maybe there's a way to combine all that. I haven't gone deep enough into the research to know if that would all work out, but it's encouraging. I'll keep digging.

Were did you see him talking about this snip? Or maybe you meant that Pete knows HA and HA has something with snip?

                        This could be also promising:

Yeah, I didn't word that too clearly. Pete has a thread about installing HA and HS on tiny PCs.

And Snips has some info on using Snips with HA using MQTT.

So I'm thinking those techniques could maybe be combined to use Snips with Homeseer. I'm a long way from even thinking about trying it - still reading!

I've been looking at MyCroft lately and hope to try playing with it soon, but haven't come across Snips before. I look forward to discussion here and playing with both when the time comes...it's always good to have options.
