    Error messages with UltraM1G

I base a lot of events on my Elk M1 zones - like speaking an alert when a gate is opened. I've been doing this without a hitch for years.

Recently I've got a long lag between when the zone is violated and when the event runs. This behavior is specific to Elk zones - events based on time or device status still run immediately. Elki zone based triggers can be delayed sometimes minutes even when set to be 'high priority' events

My log has a bunch of this
Warning No response/improper response from Elk M1 to command 'az00'
Aug-13 7:03:20 PM Warning No response/improper response from Elk M1 to command 'cv0100'
Aug-13 7:03:18 PM Warning No response/improper response from Elk M1 to command 'cv0100'
Aug-13 7:03:17 PM Warning No response/improper response from Elk M1 to command 'cv0100'
Aug-13 7:03:11 PM Warning No response/improper response from Elk M1 to command 'az00'
Aug-13 7:03:10 PM Warning No response/improper response from Elk M1 to command 'az00'
Aug-13 7:03:08 PM Warning No response/improper response from Elk M1 to command 'az00
    I don't know if that's significant.

I've rebooted everything - the M1, the M1XEP, the PC running HS3 etc. The CPU usage on the HS3 machine is 35%.

    Any thoughts?

The first errors are some of what I get whenever the M1EXP is being connected to a PC using the management software.
Of course there would also be entries indicating such - but the point is there is a communication problem. Any recent network changes? 35% utilization seems high, if continuous.

The 35% is because I run BlueIris on the same PC and it can be quite demanding. It's a real powerhouse of a PC though so it handles it.

I can't think of any network changes made recently - I have a number of switches and access points so I can try connecting the M1XEP to a different point in the network.

When you say 'management software' do you mean ElkRP?

      Thanks,

        Yes - Elk-RP.
Definitely a comm problem but if nothing has changed....
Is it on a managed switch? Check for errors.Move to a different port - just for fun.

It is a managed switch - a Netgear GS724T. I tried swapping ports but that didn't seem to matter. It's on the same switch that the HS3 PC is connected to - I'm not network savvy enough to know if that is helpful or not but it seems like that should be ideal. I have 4 different switches in my closet so I'll try running a cable from the M1XEP to a completely different switch next

My log is just chock full of this. The only other thing I thought might be an issue is that I have an ISY connected to the system as well and it also communicates with the M1XEP. I turned the ISY off completely to see if it was causing problems but that didn't matter either - sigh.
