Jasco switch sporadically not updating when controlled manually

Using an older Jasco zwave switch in my master closet. Have it tied to an event to also turn on another light when turned on (in the same closet). Then have a 'no-motion' even to turn them both off after a set time without motion.

Problem is, sometimes when I turn on the switch manually, it doesn't update (ever) in HS... but only sometimes. I know these switches didn't support instant status, but thought there was something else the Jasco units did to get around this. Must be something as sometimes it works..

I can also audit it (and optimize)… and all comes back fine. One weird think I did notice is that if the light is on, but the HS dashboard shows it as off - when I audit/rescan, it doesn't update status. But again, no warnings in Log.

I do have polling turned off and this has worked in the past.

    Any ideas?

The pseudo instant status only works if the controller can talk to it direct. If it needs to route to it through another node, then it won't update. Maybe it's able to talk to the controller directly occasionally, but typically routes through another node.

interesting... that's new to me and great to know. As it sometimes works... can I force a direct route to the controller and see if that works full time?

You can try, but if it has trouble communicating that way, it may automatically reroute at some point.

so as I use a znet, i'd just put "1" in the set route box, right?

I have with most of my switches. all new HD200s. I just had a bunch left over from my old house that I use in rooms I don't need too much control over.

Open the Set Route window, leave it blank and click Submit. This will clear the routing info, but as Al wrote it still might figure out a different route if the communication is not solid Note in the third image below routing is now Direct.
