    HSTOUCH vs HS4

    Why Create a New Front-end?

    Disregard this post
    Accidentally deleted it !

    "would pool in everyone".

Any ideas? I can delete the whole thing.

I'm not sure you can compare HSTouch with HS4. The HS4 GUI is for setup and general control; whereas HSTouch is more specialist in creating your own bespoke screens.

If you are not graphically challenged, you can easily copy the tiles posted as png files and incorporate them into a HSTouch design (HS3 or HS4)?

So your wish is for it to look like the Home Assistant Featured Integrations page?

Copying the Home Assistant UI would be the best way to fix HS4.

I think you should, because to be honest, I have no idea what you're saying. Guessing it's a language thing but no idea what the point of this thread is.

Are you suggesting they stop on the new look and work on HSTouch?? I would agree with working on HSTouch but why stop the update?

Eman I am not saying HSTouch should be changed to be more like the Home Assistant Lovelace UI. I am saying the new responsive HS4 interface could benefit from being more like Home Assistant Lovelace.

HSTouch is one of the main things that gives HomeSeer its' power and appeal. It is great that those that want to invest the time, money (designer is not free) and effort building custom interfaces can do so. I have no emperiacal data to back my claim but I doubt the majority of HomrSeer users build their own custom HSTouch UI. It is a lot of work and requires a skill set and many don't have the desire to master those skills.

I think what HomeSeer needs (and what people have been clamoring for all along) is an easy to use and simple to configure interface to control their system. Let's call it HSTouch Lite. What product fits the bill of HSTouch Lite? HomrSeer Mobile. HomeSeer Mobile is easy to use and configure. You can move the devices around and organize them on tabs that represent how you want to structure your system.

If HomeSeer did HomeSeer Mobile right when they introduced it last year it would have been a good stopgap. They would be getting far less grief about the HS4 responsive interface and would have had more time to get HS4 right before releasing a product the is not ready and will require 6 or more months of effort to be close to ready.

                          Just my 2 cents.

                            True indeed!

You in fact recreated my lost post but in so many ways.

My initial argument if I can recall was "Why waste so much time, money and grief to create HS4?" That it would have benefited "everyone" if HST concentrated on the "Back-end" which is the server (HS3 or Whatever) for "total system admin" but handover the "Front-end" which is the controller app (HSTouch or Whatever) to the "DEVs" as a shared partnership whose plugins would be able to present everything (graphics, basic system configuration but also device control)

                            The key points :
                            - The devs and hst work together (they are in the business to make money)
                            - The end user is happy (although it could cost a bit more but doesn't have to recreate the "wheel")

Most automation (free on non-free) systems work that way. Examples MSever,Hassio,Athom Homey and many others.
The end user can suggest changes but also get the benefit of the professionalism put into the end product and the HomeSeer system admin ease of use allocating Front-end permissions including what's displayed on the device.

Now in reference to my post #8
