VPN with Z-NET Remote Z-Wave Interface

Looking for any info about using the Homeseer ZNet remote Zwave interface over a VPN. Short of the Internet & VPN being down? Looking to use at Elderly parent home for monitoring? Door Locks, Motion, Temps, and so on. Probably not so much for automation?

Here have set up VPN between two homes using PFSense. I can see the devices (including ZNet like device at home) from second home and vice versa.

That said just installed a Ring alarm system at second house for security, monitoring stuff and a bit of automation. Tested the backup cellular connection on the Ring Hub to work great.

Also installing at remote house a Ring to MQTT plugin such that I could monitor status remotely via the Homeseer mcsMQTT plugin.

I run a remote znet via a site to site vpn configured between two Unifi USGs. Works great.
