    Catching up with HS4

    Greetings, all.

I had to take a hiatus from keeping up here and a few other places for the better part of a year due to a number of life changes, but am starting to catch up with all that's new with HS4 and have a couple quick questions...

    1. I know from early pre-release discussions there were a number of plugins / integrations that were being wrapped up into the core product. One of the things that has me a little confused is looking through the list of "What Works with HomeSeer" linked off the HS4 page seems to point mostly to plugins that are still listed for HS3.

Are HS3 plugins generally compatible with HS4 for the most part?

    2. I had intended to get in with HS on Linux and a running the Designer on a Win VM when I want to work on customization. Now I don't see the SEL products or a Linux specific license. Is a Linux install still available or just Pi & Win ?

    3. With all the progress in the Pi4 I think that may be a good intro solution for me after all, but looking at the specs it appears it's still an early Pi3 model? If HS is not updating their hardware to the Pi4 is there much challenge just picking up one of the (on sale!) HS RPi controllers and transplanting the software into an RPi4?

3b. And if we can move HS over to an RPi4, are we still limited to 5 plugins jumping from a 1.2 GHz CPU w/ 1G memory to a 1.5 GHz w/ 4G RAM ?

    advTHANKSance!

Some plugins will load but not work and some like Blade's plugins just work!

I have not found any that simply did not work, most seem fine, but a few have broken areas that TBH you should not expect to get fixed any time soon. Some custom scripts can have issues as well and may need some tweaks.

      HS on Linux
Its really just running on/with MONO, its not a native compile. Here is the install info https://forums.homeseer.com/forum/ho...g-hs4-on-linux

Oh, I know. But the platform itself ( Linux ) is my preference even if the apps are not native. I run a number of games and such here on Proton, Wine, etc. I do spin up a 'doze VM now and then when absolutely needed but that is typically less than once a month.
