Electric Pool Filler valve?

Is there such an animal as an electric or solenoid controlled pool fill valve? I have seen a LOT of automatic pool fillers, but I don't want it to be automatic. I DO want to be able to turn the valve on and off at will without having to climb over the pool equipment to get to it. (poor placement...) Life would be GRAND if there as one that worked with iAqualink and/or could be controlled via plug-in... Anyone heard of such a thing? A good solid replacement for the manual valve?

Any water cut off valve will work. You'll want a weather resistant version or it will need to be in a weather proof container. Some plumbing required, unless you have a quarter turn valve already in place in which case there are some strap on models that will control that. There are a variety of zwave versions, and likely other protocols.

It should work perfectly with the AUX circuit on our pool control, AND it still works manually if needed.

FWIW, that looks exactly like a typical irrigation valve and a 1" 24V irrigation valve can be bought for 1/4 the cost.

Truth. The only difference is that the Zodiac has a manual operation, too. Wife is a Rocket Scientist helping to design the next moon lander and she's a safety enthusiast so this valve will have to be fault tolerant! Believe me, it is worth the extra money! :-)

Rainbird with flow control is $22 at HD.

You may know but the zodiac and irrigation valves' flow control isn't full manual operation, although it would let you turn flow off--or very nearly off-- in a pinch and that may be your main concern. Manual on is by turning the solenoid, i.e., partially unscrewing it.
