Woo hoo! I'm officially a user!

I got all of my problems worked out with a plug-in signal bridge and noise filter from Automated Outlet. Didn't have to move the cm11a after all!

I just purchased my unlock key for my first version of Homeseer. Now, about those plugins...

I'll be here quite a bit to pester the Homeseer Gods for advice and technical assistance.

My first project will be to integrate an outdoor camera to be able to monitor the activities on and around my kid's new trampoline coming from Santa. You'll probably be seeing a thread requesting help very soon.

You got that right. Expect to adjust your schedule as follows. (This is feature of the HS key that probably no one told you about)

      Weekdays:
      Work: 8 Hours
      Family: 1 hour
      Eating: 15 minutes
Sleeping: 5 hours (You can TRY to alter this, but good luck)
      HomeSeer time: 9.75 hours

      Weekends:
Simply transfer the work hours to the HS column

      Welcome aboard!

John - I'm impressed you actually get 8 hours work done, I only last about 15 mins before I'm on the board or on my home server!!!

LOL, when I try not to bring up my home server, I start to shake and twitch and eventually give in. Then, of course, there are the meetings. Those get ugly. People are always like "what's wrong with Tom". No use resisting, it just doesn't work.

Unless of course you are a programmer and work for HomeSeer.

Do you think Rich is like, "Hey, get of your home server!. There's work to be done!!"

I have even been early for an appointment before and have connected my laptop to the internet via my mobile phone, sat in my car at a service station so I could make some changes to HS - Now that's sad!!!!

              I have a "slight" advantage.
I'm a stay-at-home Dad. I never have to go too far from HS. I can sometimes play in between diaper changes, spit ups, bottles, meals, bills, laundry, homework, etc.

Jesus Lance, there really is no hope for you...

My problem is my Boss just bought HomeSeer and I gave him my whole setup about a month ago. He is going to be browsing the board and see my post at 9:30am. Doh!

I lost my job some months ago, and so set up an internet business on my own. I'm working less hours (I am usually finished for lunchtime and don't count updating the website on an evening as 'work'), and earning more money, AND I get more time to do the HS stuff! The touch screen MP3 pc I have just installed in the kitchen has certainly improved the WAF ;-)

                    outrbanx,

Santa may be bringing a trampoline to my house this year also. Thanks for giving me another idea about how useful HS and HA can be.

Perhaps you can trade HS board time at work for some more custom scripts/asp's.

I was actually wondering if there was an equivalent of Alcoholics Anonymous for HomeSeer? If so I must find the local meeting and quick!!!!

Seeing my posts during work hours on the board was the LEAST of my problems when I got my boss into HS at my last job! It was the endless phone calls on how to do this and that! And the private "meetings" in his office tutoring him on how to do things he wanted to with HS. When I left there, I still got the occasional phone call!

I also left my job, started an Internet business (a hosting/ web deisgn company NetTechConnects.com), and am doing much better financially than I was working full time for someone else. It now gives me a LOT more time to solidify my addiction to Home Seer.

Lance: on that note, I guess I should stand up next......

Hi, My name is John, and I am a HomeSeerAholic

Hmmmm on second thought, why waste my time... I would have to have HS remind me of the meeting in the first place.... It's hopeless!

Glad your still with us Outrbanx! I thought after the responses to you in this thread, we had most certainly scared you away!
