I have a SwimEx (swimspa) and used a GE 40A waterproof relay - pretty sure its a contactor based on the "clunk"

    GE ZWave

I can turn it off and on manually or via ZWave - Supports 120 - 277V @40A (at 120V 2 ccts) and has Energy monitoring. External antenna give it great range
It's hardwired to a dedicated panel with GFCI breaker and then feeds a dual standard Water resistant outlet with In-Use Waterproof cover.
I do the GFCI breaker as all my pool equipment is below deck and my panel is in an adjacent room so its easier to access the breaker if something trips.
My 1HP Pentair pump has no GFCI plug, just a standard one.
