      Daily backups may be overkill especially if there are not a lot of changes being made. But consumer level disk space is cheap. Another reason I choose to run homseer as a VM. Take a snapshot and restore the whole VM if there is an issue, don't have to worry about what folder goes where or what version of what was installed at that point in time. But I will be adding blbackup to my plugin list after reading this thread as another easy recovery method.

        I was able to get this working, albeit manually. I found that rc.local is deprecated in Debian 9. I have to find an alternative way to auto-start it.
