I have started having some issues with devices that are far from the main Z-net I have in the basement and since I bought a Z-net plus as a backup device few months ago, I would like to try and see if the new Z-net Plus would fix my issues.
My questions is what is THE best way to do that kind of replacement ?
I am pretty sure that It's not just replacing the SD card from one device to the other as the PI is not the same version so my guess is I have to backup/restore the zwave interface but I would like to know what are the precise steps so I get back on my feet without issues.
Here is what I think I should do but if someone could confirm:
1- Backup the actual Z-net via the "Backup Interface" from the z-wave plugin Action drop down menu
2- Disable the Z-net interface
3- Delete the old Z-net interface (using the X under the Disable interface)
4- Disconnect power from old-interface
3- Connect my new Z-net Plus to the network and to power
4- Using PC open browser and type find.homeseer.com and click search
5- Click on the IP adress of the new Z-net plus detected
6- If the device shows an available update I should proceed with the update
7- Assign static IP and network details and subit to reboot the new Z-net plus with the network informations entered
8- Browse to HS4 and go to plugin -- z-wave -- controler management and click "Add interface"
9- Enter the Static IP adress that I assigned on #5
10- Enable the new Z-Wave interface clicking on the yellow disabled icon
11-Browse to HS4 and go to plugin -- z-wave -- controler management and select "Restore a network to this Interface"
12- Select the backup file from #1
13- do the "Test connectivity on a Network" option
14- rebuild the routing table without returning the route twice
15- Do a full optimize for this interface
Thanks for confirming I did not forgot anything
P.s. Can I keep my old Z-net interface disabled in place instead of deleting it (step #3) so if there are issues I could fall back rapidly where I was before starting ?
