I believe Vera uses LUA, and I didn't last long using Vera. Not sure if my problems were related to the programming language or the hub, but my experience was not good.

not sure, but thats the way things are going with SmartThings. its an old language, but still widely used. Perhaps they believe because its a known language that things will be coded easier/faster ?? The new architecture is going away from Cloud based executions and Lua was chosen for the local executable drivers.

What would be the benefit of adding LUA?

Hello HS, wanted to ask if Lua drivers for Homeseer devices will be available as Smartthings transitions to this new platform that offers local execution from ST hubs.
