Just wanted to give a one year update (16 months) on the Zwave Door Sensor Aeotec Recessed Door Sensor 7. The device has worked very well with HS4 and continues to work. I would have thought the battery would have been depleted by now as the is the door we use most often and it's open and closed several times a day. I'm almost certain that the battery reporting is in error as it still shows 100% after a year but otherwise this hardware works well and is hidden which I like not having something stuck to the door frame. Mine is about 20 feet from my SmartStick and it never has missed a beat. I'm expecting the batteries to die any time but so far so good.

Ah, I installed one of those for our side gate but forgot to enroll it again. A few months ago I installed a lock (too many people just walking into the back and stealing stuff) so it kind of forgot about it. I have to check if the battery is still ok. Based on your comment it probably is. Btw, are you using the 700 series z-wave stick? It is my understanding that the low power mode is only active when both the device and the z-wave stick use the 700 series chip.

Rupp You may want to check the configuration parameters for battery reporting. I have a couple of sensors that don't report battery status until they are below a threshold and that can be set with a Z-Wave parameter. The spec says 2 year battery life with < 20 activations per day."if I have seen further [than others], it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." --Sir Isaac Newton (1675)
