        100% agree with that suggestion!

I’ve ordered one of the Aqara ones to test and see what it’s like but if it works as I think I’d love to replace three bathroom PIRs with these. Problem is, they’re 12VAC and changing them to USB or whatever would be a major hassle.

Maybe use POE and a regulator down to 12V?

            It's the USB thing that's a problem.

In the UK it is (I think) illegal to have a mains supply into a bathroom unless it's shielded etc so there is nowhere in a bathroom that you can plug in a USB wall wart. Meaning that i a UK bathroom you won't find an outlet that you can plug one into.

Running a USB cable, even if possible without redecoration, ripping out tiles and so on for possibly ten meters or more is at best impractical.

Whereas 12V PIRs are common and already installed although to be fair, I put those in when the bathrooms were last done for HA purposes.

What I am getting at and I suspect Duc988 is that to simply swap an existing PIR over to one o these sensors would be far simpler and more practical for anyone that presently uses standard PIRS, which I suspect many of us do for presence detection.
