    Try

    userid = "guest"
    password = "guest"

      I think its...

      http://webserver.com@guest:guest

      Correct me if I am wrong.

        You mean like http://guest:guest@big.bounceme.net:8080/ ???

        Can't be done.

        Well, OK, it can. I just tried the above link with FireFox. But, MS updated IE a few months ago to refuse this syntax. So, your IE users will not be able to use this type of link.

          About a year ago one of the security patches eliminated the ability to do this. (http://webserver.com@guest:guest). The only option now is to supply a page that has a link and has the username and password available.

            Ahhh... Well I guess I am a bit behind on the times then... I knew that there was a way to do it but I also noticed that most of the HomeSeer webpage that I have looked at are supplying the username and password...

            On another note... If I have the "../" to access file system option checked, how do I access it???

              Simply key in your url as normal to your home page and then add the ../filename.txt. Like http://12.219.145.567:81/../doc/RCX_...tat_Readme.txt If the browser knows how to display the requested file it will else it will prompt you to save it.

                Course I guess that means that I need to know that name of the file that I want to pull. It doesn't seem to like wildcards for listings...

                  Yes you do need to know the file name. If not anyone would be able to pull all of the data on your machine.

                    Yeah that makes sense.. Course on that note anyone who looked through your HomeSeer site close enough would know what the file names are... I'm sure you would... HAHAH
