    Capture card question

I saw this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...747974741&rd=1

Is there anything bad about this card that anyone knows of? Is there any advantage using the cards that everyone sells for $100 over these cheaper ones?

Several (including myself) have tried to get these types of cards working with anything other than the software provided with the cards. I have not heard of anyone having any success.

      Other options

If you are looking just to capture video, SurplusComputers.com has offered a PCI TV tuner and video-in card for $19.99. I have a similar card and a CHEAP! 4 channel sequencer connected to it. It sequences through all 4 door cameras and then I use that to feed a video stream. I run each channel for 7 seconds. You have to wait 21 seconds to see a particular camera, but it works well. Card cost me $25 and the sequencer was $21.

I have that card working with a bt878 generic driver that you can download off the internet and all 4 inputs are available if you use the hs webcam pluggin but not if you use capture software that needs a seperate listing under windows devices for each input like cam wizard.

ooo that made my ears pop up.. you say it works WITH the HS webcam plugin? can you tell me does the plugin see it as 1 or 4 capture devices?

Id be interested as I have one of these cards on the floor next to me.. gave up a while back.

Can you also share the link to the bt878 driver download? FOUND http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/download.html

            Thx, TrOjAn

Actually I got this working with the sourceforge wdm drivers and it works GREAT! The model of this card is not listed in the setup, but there is a "spy" utility that you can run that detects the card settings, saves it as a text file, then you can import the txt file during driver installation. I now have all 4 inputs working fine!!
