    Zooz Z-Box hub

Wondering if anyone has any thoughts about this. It’s from Zooz, who I trust, but basically a rebrand of a Fibaro hub it seems.

just eyeballing it, what I really like is that there is Apple Watch support, which HomeSeer still doesn’t offer. And presumably the iPhone app can’t be any worse than the HomeSeer app.

I’m running HS3, and ready to upgrade or move to a new platform.

I took a look at it but considered it to be an 'extra" layer of complexity that wasn't really needed. HomeSeer and Z-Net already handles Z-Wave and Homebridge provides HomeKit, and therefore, Home app and Apple Watch support.

As you already pointed out, it's just a rebranded Fibaro hub. I lump Fibaro and Aeotec into the same category... marketing companies with all sizzle and little steak. Their packaging and marketing materials are very slick, but the products usually fall short, at least based on my experience of testing and anecdotal research.

Don't get me wrong, I have much respect for Zooz and their primary products that they design and support, IMO, their ZEN77 is currently the best overall Zwave dimmer on the market at the moment.

While I have not used all the Fibaro and Aeotec products, I have used many (no hubs)

Fibaro motion sensors (the tiny style) are literally the best zwave sensors ever made. I've owned and used in production all brands / all zwave motion sensors sold in the USA. They may even be better than the 10 Bosch dual-wave commercial sensors (zigbee) I have in use.

Aeotec are hit-miss... the simple sensors (water, etc) are fine but motion sensors I've had problems with.

I have over 60 Zooz devices (dimmers, motion, etc)... the motion sensors are crap (I've used 3 different models - still have 1 in non-critical area). The dimmers are very good but tech support is great at answer questions but Buyer Beware if you get a defective switch... then they try to get out of replacing it.

I just installed 37 Zen30 dimmers... 2 will not go into pairing mode after multiple factor resets, nada. Zooz is giving me the run-around like I did something wrong... yeah, I installed 35 just so I must be doing something wrong. They did this to me before when I bought 6 Zen30 v1 BETA units... 2 were defective out of 6 and they got mad at me for asking to have them replaced. One physically did not even work.

With Michael McSharry's Free Hubitat Elevation plugin, this looks much more interesting.
