Can I move Z-Wave stick between Home Assistant and Homeseer?

I currently have a HS4 instance with many Z-Wave associations using the HS stick. I am going to get an Aeotec 700 stick (because HA does not support Smartstick) and reassociate all the devices to the Aeotec. My long term plan is to migrate to HA (already have an instance running). For trying features and operations between HS and HA, I would like to be able to move the stick between HS and HA and have all the devices still recognized and work.

I know the associations are stored in the stick, but will HS and HA “see” the same devices and work seamlessly when I plug in the stick?

    Thanks.

Works for me using a Z-Net, should work for a USB device as well.

I'm pretty sure both the Z-Net and USB stick just use serial comms to talk to the host computer. The radio and network configuration are in the device itself. Unless HS or HA do something to change the format of the configuration data, which seems unlikely, it should work fine.

Thank you, mterry63 and kenm. If I move the stick from HS to HA, will HA simply "discover" the already-associated devices and properly configure them for use? I read that one must have the S0 and S2 keys. This is my cross post over at the HA forum: https://community.home-assistant.io/...omeseer/497256

Bonus question: This page: https://www.home-assistant.io/docs/z-wave/controllers/ does not show Z-Net as a supported controller, but it obviously works. I've also read that Smartstick+ might work. Any knowledge whether Smartstick+ will work as well?

Yes, once you configure the keys (if you have both, I only had S0) and connect the controller via the software, it will read all the existing devices and create them. There may be some devices that aren't supported, you will have to look them up int the Z-Wave-JS database. There are posts on this board on how to get the keys from the INI file and put it in the format HA wants.

The Z-Net is not actually the controller, it's just a RPi with a EZZee controller plugged into it.

I successfully moved between HomeSeer and Home Assistant with my Z-Net multiple times while migrating from one platform to the other. Give the software plenty of time to import the data (mine took 30 minutes to an hour to finally update everything from the controller). Battery devices could take a day or so to completely update unless you manually wake them up.
