i have this la crosse weather station and outside of no wifi it has worked good except for the wind vane that never seems to point in the correct direction, i made tons of mods to it but no luck. anyway a week or so ago it started not showing most if not all of the modules the outdoor temp is blank the wind speed and direction stopped the speed number are blank the direction shows but is not moving in the every few second interval the feels like is blank the outdoor records is blank
now i took if down and brought it into the house and sat it next to the receiver and it did not reconnect. i even reset the receiver a few times and it did not reconnect.
so i took out the battery on the outdoor unit and checked the voltage and it was more than a new battery so i put it back and then it started to work. but again in may be 2 hours it did it again so i changed the battery and now it does it less often and it will turn back on when it feels like it. so has anyone else have this issue and if so did you fix it or toss it and get a better weather station.
if you got a better weather station what stations work better? i like the lacrosse inside bast display i guess the colors make it a nice unit for someone that is color handicapped besides with the other plain displays i have to actually look for a bit to see the data on this display it stands out for a fast glance action. my guess is most are ok but the wind vane for me i sure would like to find one that pointed in the wind direction. i built one for the shed roof and that one points in the wind direction 90% or better all day long. in fact i made 4 and set them on a rail and they all pointed the same general direction the same time and the lacrosse would point some other direction/
anyway i'm asking about the outdoor unit as a system that is not sending data now to the base. and as i write this it started sending data again but it cuts out all the time. so if anyone has one of these and found a fix please send that along. or if you know of a forum that better addresses the lacrosse systems outside of the company thanks
