Honeywell T6 Pro Zwave Thermostat States

It got a little cool here last evening (about -10F) and I received a low temp alert from an empty house. I have the temp set to 50 and the low temp set to 45. When looking through the log to see how low the temp dropped I noticed the operating state of the T6 went to operating state 4. When I go in to create events I see the below for operating states.

I know 0 is off and 1 is heat. The assumption would be 3 would be cool and 4 would be Aux or EH but it doesn't make sense. With the heat set at 50 you can see below the temp drops to 49 and the heat turns on (state 1) it drops some more because the T6 is in the middle of the house and it starts moving cold air around. You can see it starts to climb then it hits a state 4 before a state 0 (off). I was thinking maybe this was the timer between heat off and fan off but you can see the fan turns off before state 4 and then 1 second later it goes to state 0. Thanks everyone!

And there's the answer. Now I just have to figure out why it's pending heating if it just turned off....maybe that's the short cycle timer?

On a gas furnace there is a typically a delay in starting the fan after the burners ignite. This prevents cold air being circulated before the heat exchanger is warmed. The fan also continues to run after the burners go off, to remove excess heat. I suspect that's what Pending Heat means.

Looks like you have a heat pump (aux heat).. Pending usually means it's in the Compressor timeout period. That's to keep if from short cycling the compressor.. If you were in front of the thermostat, the Heat icon at the top left of the thermostat would be blinking.. Means it's asking for heat, but it's waiting for the timeout to expire.. Will stop blinking once the compressor turns on..
