Zwave Temp sensor with prob

Greetings all! I’m in search of a temperature sensor with a probe I can attach to a hot water pipe and get the temperature reported back to HomeSeer .. I have found some that work with the Euro Zwave frequency but none that work in the US.. the unit needs to operate on batteries as is will be in an area where a water leak could develop.. Any suggestion would be awesome …

I've been searching for one forever it seems. Just a simple Z-Wave temp sensor with a remote probe appears to be a unicorn.

Apparently Qubino has gone belly up. I have their relay with the temp sensor and it works perfectly. Try these links.

If you see the little rectangle on the left side of the module, that's where the temp sensor plugs in. In addition, if including and adding the temp sensor afterwards, you will have to exclude and reinclude according to qubino.

I have the sensor taped to the side of the return for the hot water that is coming back to the tank. Pick a number and zero in on what works for you. I have three "zones" HOT, means everybody up and at 'em. Keep the water hot for a few hours a day. LUKEWARM, keep it somewhat warm when people are home but not active like the morning. OFF, just like it says, off but motion sensor in the bathroom kicks it on. The family loves it.

You could use a Aeotec aerQ Temp/Humidity sensor. The complete unit is very small ~(1" by 1 " by 1/2") and runs about 2 years on a button cell. If you wrap a little insulating material around the pipe and this unit it would be close to pipe temp! Since they are so small I place next to my thermostat to get better than 1 degree resolution(since I have never found a z-wave Thermostat that shows less than 1 degree resolution).
