Connecting HS4 to a Security panel

I have read the previous posts looking for a home security system that will work with a HS3 plugin. It appears that the discussions are about 3-4 years old.

I just upgraded from HS3 to HS4 a few weeks ago and about the same time, my HAI security and lighting system cratered and no parts are available.

I have read that DSC PC-18xx works with a Envisalink plugin and an Elk M1 works with the UltraMiG plugin. I also believe the DSC PC-18xx is a discontinued product.

Can anyone comment on any security systems that can connect to HS4 with a HS4 plugin?

I forgot to mention that my old HAI system was hardwired and I would prefer to uses a new system that has hardwired and wireless sensor inputs.

There was just a discussion about this a few days ago, and many more in the past. In short, many use DSC PC-18xx and it works for both HS3 and HS4.

Oh, you actually asked about this. Which alarm panel integrates best with HS? - HomeSeer Message Board

I have a Honeywell (Ademco) Vista 20p that's been in service for years and works well with an Envisalink EVL-4 and spud's EnvisalinkAdemco plugin. I'm using 4 expansion boards and have 4 alpha-numeric keypads. It's a no-frills solution and a bit of a pain to program (similar to a DSC PC-1864, which I also have at another location), but it's solid. Available from a number of online sources.

The DSC website lists the PC18 series control boards for sale.

What have you seen that leads you to believe that they are discontinued?

This was back in 2021. According to them it is being discontinued. They recommend PowerSeries Neo for homes and PowerSeries Pro for commercial.

Difference between PS and PS Neo. Especially note the section "Third-Party Integration". I am not sure when the article was written but at the time the article was written it sounds like EnvisaLink and IT-100 don't work with the Neo. Maybe it just takes some time to get this integration done for the Neo.

I have a supplier of DSC Powerseries equipment that has informed me they were discontinued. Some keypads are marked as discontinued on their site, but seems like the boards don't have that designation yet. Either way they have told me that the PowerSeries is on the way out, and the Neo is replacing it. Of course Envisalink has no integration with Neo yet, so that is a problem.

I know wired is better, but for a guy who wants a half-assed solution, would one of the big wireless brands be okay? Like Simplisafe or Abode or whatnot?

I like my Simplisafe system as I find it much more flexible than my old houses DSC system. HOWEVER ... BIG LETTERS... it does not interface at all with HS3 or HS4. My biggest gap in the whole home automation effort. Still waiting for Simplisafe to open up a little and integrate with HS (or anyone that I can then interface HS with )... So be aware of that missing link

I just started working on the integration of Abode with HS3 / HS4. It has a documented API and has integrations using Python and nodejs so I am comfortable that the HS plugin should be possible. The downside it that the integration depends upon the internet.
