    Number of Interfaces

Is there a limit to the number of interfaces you can have on one system?
    I am using the Z-Net R2 and R3 Units
Looking to use 7 to 10 Units all hardwired

It's an interesting question, I'm curious about the answer also.

I will caution though, unless you are covering a very large geographic area, using that many controllers might not give you desirable results. One has to remember that Z-wave transmissions are single channel, meaning there is only frequency per country. For example, residential Wifi allows you to successfully deploy many Access Points because you prevent RF overlap interference by changing the frequency/channel per AP, yet allow them to communicate on the same wireless network (SSID).

It's almost always better to build out a well-designed mesh whenever possible. I have only one USB stick that covers my entire property by setting up Z-wave nodes that can route/repeat along the geographic distance. Once your node count increases significantly and the routing hops become 2+, then it's time to introduce additional controllers that are spaced a good distance from each other.

    Just a thought.

I will have 3 coming thru VPN and 4 locally in a building of 25,000 sqft with brick wall rooms

I ask this because in the log I am getting this entry (Z-wave warning z-wave interface Al-home (node 1) on network C82xxfb0 was initialized and is being re-initialized)
this warning keeps rolling thru all 7 interfaces 1 at a time.

Ahh, you definitely have a use case for multiple controllers. You might want to also open a support ticket since official HST folks don't monitor all the forums. I'm also curious as to the answer you get because it's more than likely a HS limitation and a not a Z-wave protocol limitation since I'm assuming every controller you're using is a separate network ID.

I have opened a support ticket for another issue I am having with the Homeseer speaker not launching. That looks like I will need to have to Uninstall & Reinstall HS4 to take care of that issue. This is a new setup and I am not that far along yet and would like to start fresh. That is why the question for the number of interfaces before I start over.

I don’t think there is a stated limit. I have run 7 without issue and currently running 5.
