Mine is an Insteon installation. A few months ago, my PLM expired and I migrated from an isy944i to a HomeTroller Pi and an Insteon hub. The Pi gave me the opportunity to try z-wave so I installed a z-wave switch. My hometroller Pi is extremely slow and the Insteon hub only works via radio frequency. When Insteon started producing PLM's again, I decided to change my system to HS4 running on a Windows system interfacing with a PLM. But that still leaves me with a single z-wave device. So I bought a z-waveMe ZMEUUZB that was on sale.
I had no problem defining my z-wave light switch to my Pi, and it works fine. I have tried to define that same switch to my HS4 system using the z-waveMe interface without any success. I have tried doing a factory reset on the switch but that did not help. Now I don't know if I cannot define the switch to my new HS4 system because it is already defined to the Pi system or is it because of the z-waveMe interface (and hence the reason that it is now on sale for $9.95). I can continue to use the Pi system for any future z-wave devices and my HS4 system for my Insteon devices. But I also would like some opinions as to whether I might have greater luck using a Smartstick +. Having everything running on the same system would be desirable but I can live with a split system.
