I just logged in to that site by using a simple username such as dan, and it simply logs me in without asking for any password, not sure if I would be comfortable with that.

A great site for an anonymous e-mail is:

    http://www.dodgeit.com/

You can list your e-mail as whatever@dodgeit.com and then goto http://www.dodgeit.com/ to check any replies.

It is not secure, but is useful when you have to give an e-mail address and the service needs to send you a logon password. For example, The New York Times. I don't care who uses my fictitious logon, but I don't want the the New York Time sending the logon password to my real e-mail address.

Also good if you want someone to send you their e-mail but you don't want to post yours all over a user board.
