    Grafix card question

Maybe I am putting this in the wrong place but...I have a Dell 2350 with an intergrated Intel grafix card, I called Dell, but i guess you all know how tech support goes. You get some guy from India or Pakistan and hard to understand. Anyway they said I could not upgrade the grafix card to like Nvidia because they would conflict. Commonsense tells me that if you go to device manager and uninstall the Intel grafix card and install the nvidia one then it should work. shouldn't it?
    Thanx

You need to be able to disable the on board graphics in the BIOS.

Or, if the new graphics card is PCI based, then you can run a dual-monitor setup. Double the computer headaches! I have run two video boards and two monitors for over a year now and I love it.

You can get someone who has done it before but Its not hard. Just make sure the box says PCI instead of AGP card, unless of course you want AGP.

          Pretty much unplug power

Discharge static electricity by touch the side of the case with your hand (just as a precaution) Even though I hardly ever do this

then the card slides snaps in, its held in place be a screw on one end and a clip on the other

          Its easy though

Maybe I'm mistakening but Not all Windows version supports dual monitors XP does

Just remember that direct x apps will not work on monitor 2. (If I remember correctly)

My roomate has the EXACT same system and problem. Tech support told us that the onboard card could NOT be disabled. You will have to use a dual monitor setup if you want a better graphics card. It will also HAVE to be a PCI card, as there is no AGP port on the motherboard.

If you recently purchased this system, they will exchange it for up to 30 days. You will have to box it up and send it back, then they will ship the one you want after you work out the pricing difference ect. Whole process can take 3-5 weeks though!

I am not sure... it's been a while since I ran into that. It was for a customer, and I think he wanted to watch TV on the second monitor, and it was a no -go. Things could have changed since then.
