I think that home audio (distributed audio) is something that can be a real backbone to a potential business as many manufacturers have mature and easy to install products.
I don't know that I would ever get into high-end home theater installs as I know there is lots to learn and there are already some established businesses in this area.
I'm afraid that even runing speaker/audio wire in CA will require the low voltage license. I think there are some loopholds in CA where you can run low voltage cabling if it's part of a larger install (not only cabling) and doesn't exceed $500 or a certain percentage of the total bill????
I'm in contact with the owner of the cabling business I've used at work and hope to get out to lumch with him next week to get some clarification.
