    Dutch caller-id

Is there a Dutch user who has succesfully caller-id with homeseer (not hsphone) ?
Would like some information about it, í tried many times, just no luck so far.
PS my modem should be able to deal with it
my normal phone has it, so the signal is ok
    anyone ?

Are you using KPN service or UPC (or Essent)? The difference is that KPN delivers caller-id via DTMF tones, whereas UPC/Essent deliver caller-id via the North American FSK tones. Not sure if HSPhone can cope with the DTMF tones.

I am subscribed to priority telephone (UPC). The caller id on my hsp doesn't work either.

I am using KPN so that would be DTMF...
But i do not have hsphone, i would want to get it working with the caller-id script.

Personally, I have an ISDN-line, which includes caller id. I use a different (non-homeseer) program for identifying callers and then use the hsc-utility to have HomeSeer announce the caller.

In a different thread I set out the question if there is a hsc-version which can include arguments. This would greatly improve the communication between the caller-id program and homeseer.

I'm currently using a proggy called Capitel to have caller ID and an answering machine for my ISDN-line. Always interested in other ways (better ways ) of doing this!

                Count me in!

                  Richard,

I would like to know how you did the trick through the hsc software?

I use a little program with the name ISDNCaller (see http://www.isdncall.de and see how good your german language skills are :-), about 15 euro). This program can be used as an answering machine, but I do not use it for this. This program can also start a command line program when a call is recieved. Here I entered 'd:\temp\x10\homeseer\hsc -s "For %o, phonecall from %c"'. Since ISDNCaller substitutes the %o and %c for the actual values, this will make Homeseer pronounce 'For Richard, phonecall from mister x'.

ISDNCaller can also substitute the caller number, called number, date or time.

For pronouncing the caller, this will do it. Besides this, I use RVS Commcenter as an answering machine. When I come home, a little scripts runs which checks if there are any new messages on the RVS Commcenter answeringmachine, then looks for the names in the ISDNCall database and pronounces "There are 3 messages for Richard, from mister x, family y and from unknown. There are 2 messages for Monica, from family z and from unknown'. If anyone is interested in this script, just let me know.

Anyway, this is the very same messages, but in the original language:
                    -----------------------------------------

                    Groeten,

                    Richard

I'm using the ISDN-CallerID program of MQSOFT (http://mqsoft.virtualave.net/callerid.html). This freeware program uses CAPI and lets you either write a diskrecord with caller-id information or it can call a webpage and send the caller-id parameters along. I use the latter method to call an .asp webpage in the homeseer\html directory. This page then, formats the msg to be announced and uses hs.writelog to record the data in the logfile.
A second webpages displays the results from the (ultra_view) database. See http://www.ringersma.nl/thuis/call.htm for the results.

                        Hi Richard,
I am using isdncall and RVS Commcenter as well and am intrested in your script.
                        Can I have a copy?
                        Thanks.

                          Hello Peter and others,

By now I have changed the action in ISDNCall 2001 to "D:\Program Files\HomeSeer\hsc.exe -sr telefoon.txt telefoon "%o;%O;%c;%C;" (see Settings - Options - Actions). See the attachement for the script I use. Under the Settings - Configuration - MSN's menu I assigned my name and my wife's name to two different phone numbers (MSN's).

Let me know if you have any questions.
Let me know if anyone needs a translation of the script ;-)

                          Regards,

                          Richard

                            Hi Richard,
                            thanks for the file.
You said that you also used a script for the answering machine. That is the script I am realy interested in.

                            Thanks,

                              Right,

This one is a bit more complex. I use RVS Commcenter for an answeringmachine (as you are). RVS Commcenter stores for every recorded call two files in a directory: the *.wav-file with the recorded message and a *.adr file with information about the call.

A script (antwoordbericht.txt) runs once every 15 minutes and opens all *.adr-files to check if there are newly recorded messages and sets some variables in HomeSeer accordingly (note that in my setup there is a phonenumber for my wife and a different phonenumber for me). When we arrive home, the motion sensor in the living room triggers a script which speaks out the new messages (antwoordapparaat.txt).

There is also a rudimentary webpage (berichten.asp) wich shows the messages so you can listen to them from the web interface.

Anyway, it has been a long time since I programmed this. I have zipped it all. I hope you can figure it out, if not I will have to dive back into it . Feel free to ask questions.

                              Regards,

                              Richard
