    CM11A download

Does HomeSeer provide a method of downloading the CM11A so that HomeSeer does not need to be "online".

Need a solution to this soon.

    Thanks in advance.

HomeSeer version 1.5 and later allows you to download your timed events as well as events triggered by X10 command to the CM11A. HomeSeer will also "auto download" to the CM11A as needed as your conditional events change. Note that the download functionality is provided by HAWizard Software and must be purchased through them. A 30 day trial is available. See the HomeSeer download page and www.hawizard.com for more information.

      Rupp,
Thanks. I knew it was available but could not locate it.

To clarify a little for me (im slow)
This means that I need to purchase that extra software to enable downloading? why not just get the free active home software and do it that way? For the price of homeseer I would expect that be automatically included.

That's a good point and if all you want to do is use the CM11a without the PC running your probably better off with active home but if you want to do real Home Automation then forget about downloading to the CM11a and leave your PC running all the time and go with HS.

There is no problem using both. Because I can't download sunrise and sunset times with homeseer I use Active Home, this way I have a backup way of turning on my lights if my computer isn't running for some reason. It's too bad that you can't download sunrise and sunset times with homeseer and keep it in memory with the cm11a like you can with active home. Don't get me wrong, Homeseer is a much better program.

Since I purchase the HAWizard a while back, I decided to use it anyway. Seemd like downloaded events are faster although I have not gone to the trouble of doing any timing test. Note that there are only a few event conditions that are truly "downloadable" (.e.g, control of an X10 device at a given time of day).

If I hadn't purchased the HAWizard, I would not do so now since I have HomeSeer running 24/7. It does not matter that much that I save 2% CPU for a 1/2 second twice a day by using downloaded events. But, since I can, I am.

I would concer 100% with Jim. I bought it, use it, but won't do so again if I hadn't. I also think that those few events that are doable via download are a bit faster than if they were not.

Since i've gotten the trial version of HAWizard, I've yet to see it work for me. I installed it, opened up homeseer, found the new "Download..." in the menu.. I hit download and it appears to work..but when time comes, i shut down my homeseer leaving only the cm11a to do it alone... but nothing happens.. i crack open active home, bam bam bop..works like a champ... I do however also leave homeseer on for the webaccess..thats is the best thing ever
