Hmmm....does it take VMware down or just the guest OS?

Just the guest. I do have VMWare tools installed.

I dunno - make sure the zwave.ocx is installed in the guests HomeSeer directory and registered. There are also some VMware USB drivers, I'd make sure they are up to date. You can also check with folks at the VMware message boards. You could also see if any other USB devices work.

It seems as though making the guest client that HS is running on Win2003 Server rather than WinXP has made it more reliable. It doesn't seem to be blue-screening now.
