Where can I get the Powerlinc USB

I saw the Powerlinc USB on automated outlet before but now I cannot find it. I thought it was $29.99 or something like that.

Where can I buy one of these?
    Cheers,
    Bob

I thought I had found it on AO's site, but it was the serial port version at http://automatedoutlet.com/product.p...&cat=20&page=1

Looks like the USB version is only available bundled with the s/w.

No, the 1132U interface has been discontinued by Smarthome and is no longer available....

They didn't give us any warning either.

          Sorry,

            Martin,

Although I am probably the last person that should be saying this as I am having mine swapped out atm, but the discontinuation of the 1132U was done and the 2414U (Insteon / X-10 compatible) was introduced as its replacement, correct?

Well then, that is some sad news.

What is the best interface to get then to replace my CM11A?
              Cheers,

Yes, you are correct. The biggest issue I see is that I'm not sure that that device has been tested with all software. In addition, SH doesn't even have any basic X10 software for that. Their response is that the 1132CU will do everything that the 1132U did but it's twice the money.

                  Martin,

What would you recommend I replace my CM11A with? I am not going to be getting any Isteon devices. I like the Switchlincs that I have already.

Plus, I have a gift certificate from your store to use

If you're looking for a rock-solid X-10 interface, use the ACT TI-103. It's faster than the CM-11a and I've never had a lock-up, etc. Part of that is probably due to the fact that it's just an interface with no macros, timers, etc. built in.

I'm still confused. Will the http://www.smarthome.com/2414u.html work with X10 only using the new Insteon Plugin?

I am also curious about this because I do not plan on using Insteon at all.

                          Bob,
According to Jon the Insteon plugin author, the answer is yes you can use this plugin as an X10 interface with the 2414U.

To expand on the previous, the 2814/2414 series interfaces, serial or USB, are not compatible with earlier X10-only interfaces. You must use a plugin which knows how to talk to them, whether for Insteon/X10 or just X10.

So what you are saying is....

If I buy the 2414U Powerlinc USB then I can just use it for X10 to replace my CM11A but I need to use the new Insteon plugin in order to do it?

I would love to hear some feedback from people that are using one with the new plugin. Is it stable enough yet to trust it with your automation?
                              Cheers,
