    WAV Files?

Anyone ever successful getting HSP2 to play wav files for the inital greeting?

If so, what is the proper file path?

    Thanks,
    Bill

Unless HS2 changed the rules, remember you can only use the 8hz voices, not the 16.

not me. I have had a help ticket in for about 30 days.
Add your ticket and maybe they will look a little faster.

I am not sure...How do you tell.

I was asked by HS to send them the file which I did. If it was that simple you would think that they would have said somthing.

Right click on the wav file and select properties, then select summary.

I'm not sure that there is a restriction on the path to the wav file. Right now this is mine: C:\Documents and Settings\jim\My Documents\Phone Wav\G5 8 16 m ld.wav.

If I remember back when I created this file to use with HS1.7 the most important thing was getting the format right. My file has the following properties.
              format: PCM
              sample rate: 8.00 kHz
              audio sample size: 16 bit
              channels: 1 (mono)

I may be wrong but as I remember, all files that HS & HSP uses must be in the Homeseer folder. I don't think it will find files in the Document folder.

I am still on 1.7.44 and there is a WAVS folder under the Homeseer one. All the wav files I use for HSP (when it works) are there.

The file should show 8 bit, 8 khz audio sample, MONO.

Not sure with 2041 yet, but as of 2040 build of HS2/HSP, I was able to assign an 8bit/8Khz wav file in a folder outside of the HS installation path just fine. Perhaps the key was I used a path that didn't contain any spaces:

                  E:\Media\Audio\Gretting1.wav

                  (HS is installed on C:\Program files\Homeseer 2\)

Since having 2041, I have not had HSP work with wav files. Not sure if it is related to 2041, or just fact that HSP is so unreliable in the first place.
