Hi
</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">
Forgive me if im going over old ground but I have trawled the forums pretty much all day and still don't feel like i've ever reached a definitive answer to my questions...
Basically i am toying with the idea of going all the way with home automation and Homeseer looks like by far the best option, along with MainLobby for the 'front ends'. My questions are to do with the control side of things. It seems like X10 although popular, has its flaws. The din rail dimmer modules are quite cheap however i have heard horror stories about R.F. interference, RCD's causing problems and units generally failing over time.
I like the look of the Clipsal C-Bus system - it appeals to me because it is hard wired and it also provides status feedback - something that i haven't been able to find at all on an x10 din rail dimmer in the UK.
So, my question is really - is C-BUS totally compatible with Homeseer and Main Lobby? - i.e. does the status reporting work so that if a light is turned on locally, my touchscreen can update to show that it is?
I know that there is talk of a plugin but information seems to be scarce... can somebody help me? - i just want to know what additional hardware is required (if any) and where I can get it from.
On another note i think a DMX plugin would be a great addition to the Homeseer line up. The communication tends to be rock solid and the price of dimmer packs is falling all the time thanks to our friends in China!
I hope someone is out there who can help me,
Thanks in advance.
J.
