WGL W800 Gone Bad?

I've had a WGL W800 for about a year. It suddenly stopped working.

Upon inspection, I found it's cranking out some sort of spurious noise which stops everying thing else on my 8 port serial device to also not work.

- I have tried unplugging the WGL W800 and plugging back in - same thing.
- All of the connections have been checked -good there.
- No new hardware has been added.

What did I miss? Could this thing have lasted just one year?

How far from your PC is the W800? If they they are too close it can cause RF interference which exhibits the behavior you described.

It is about 10 feet from the PC. I'm using an Edgeport usb to serial device - when the WGL is plugged in the Edgeport "errors" and stops working on all ports? The thing has worked flawlessly until now.

Have you tried running the W800 via the on board serial port just to rule out the serial device?
